For years, the furnace that heats the front part of the Hinchey Homestead managed by the Gates Historical Society for the Town of Gates has been red tagged. The 2nd furnace that heats the back half of the first floor is all the heat the house gets.
Now the Gates Historical Society has the offer of a new furnace for $3500 with no installation costs.
