Washington's HQ In the United States one of the first historic preservation efforts was the Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site, in Newburgh, New York. This property has the distinction of being the first-ever property designated and operated as a historic site by a U.S. state, having been so since 1850.
Susan B. Anthony House Home of Susan B. Anthony, prominent 19th century women's rights activist, National Historical site since May 23, 1965.
Eastman House The home of George Eastman, founder of Kodak, now an internationally known photography museum, National Historical site since November 13, 1966.
Erie Canal The New York State Canal System, successor to the Erie Canal is a 525-mile (845 km) system is composed of the Erie Canal, the Oswego Canal, the Cayuga–Seneca Canal, and the Champlain Canal. It's been a National Historical site since December 23, 2016.
